It's hard sometimes though, because, with her being so far away (I'm in England, and she's in Texas) I'm the one that usually has to stay up late to talk to her!
Well anyway, I thought that whilst I was waiting, I'd post my thoughts on yesterday's Superbowl!
It was the first ever game of "football" I've ever watched, so I went into it with an open mind, knowing kind of what to expect having heard all the hype about it.

What can I say, despite the silly o'clock finish, it was fantastic! Well the game was. I'm not too sure why it keeps having to start and stop so often. I mean, yeah okay I get the whole point of the Down thingy... but why the 5 minute gaps inbetween plays! The Second quarter lasted a whole 42 minutes, of which only 15 of that was actually game time. It made me think, just how much of this game is actually focussed upon, well, the game! Over in England we didn't get all the ad breaks that Americans have... but from what they were saying, companies are paying $3million for a 30 second ad to be played at the superbowl.
It's no wonder the NFL is apparently so rich, if from one game alone, you're making nearly $650million from advertising... let alone ticket sales for that huge stadium!
Anyways back on track, I enjoyed it! I was rooting for the Packers to win, as that was who S was supporting! And looks like we picked the winners! It was a pretty close second half though, I was fixed to the screen during the final plays! I must confess that for the first 1/2 hour (ad breaks included) I didn't know which team was which!
My opinion of football was pretty low, owing to it not actually being anything to do with feet! But having watched the superbowl, I now have a newfound respect for the game. It's not just about a group of men running after a ball on a field... I appreciated the finer aspect of it, the strategies that the teams were having to implement as well as the skill used. It's not like "soccer" where tactics are less easy to determine the tactics!
Now lets talk about the half time show... actually, let's not...it was shit, enough said

I liked the Black Eyed Peas before yesterday! But they were just dire during the half time show! As was Usher... that's all I can say really!
Anyways, I'm gonna head off now
